RSTPPDPTF - Restore a PPD PTF

Scroll Prev Top Next More

This command must be run on the IBM i and can be used to restore a PTF of objects (programs, files etc.) that have been previously created using the CRTPPDPTF command. You will have been asked to copy the supplied PTF (CPPDPTF) into the QDLS/CPPD folder on your IBM i.

Note: If you change either the filename or the folder then this will need to be reflected in the Document & Folder parameters respectively.

Make sure that you have the CPPD library in your library list. To do this, enter the following command: -

ADDLIBLE CPPD

If the library already exists in your library list, you will receive an error message, which you may ignore.

Next enter RSTPPDPTF and press F4=Prompt.

Command Parameters

Object names to restore (OBJ)

Enter the name of the objects that you wish to restore. You may enter up to twenty objects but they must all be found in the same library. You may specify *ALL to restore all objects.

Saved library (SAVLIB)

Enter the name of the library from which the previously entered objects were saved. This should be left as CPPDPTF if the PTF was created using the CRTPPDPTF command.

Object types (OBJTYP)

Select the types of objects to be restored or leave as *ALL to restore all object types.

Save file (SAVF)

Enter the name of the Save file that you wish to use to restore this PTF. The Save file will be created if it is not found or cleared if it is found. The default Save file is CPPDPTF and this will be created in the library QTEMP.

Document (DOC)

Enter the name of the document from which you wish to restore your PTF data. The default entry is CPPDPTF.

Folder (FLR)

Enter the name of the folder where the document may be found. The default is folder CPPD.

Restore to library (RSTLIB)

Enter the name of the library to which you wish to restore the selected objects. If the PTFs you have been sent apply to changes for the Cobwebb Server software then this library should be CPPD. Sometimes, if you have been sent a PTF of a variety of objects someone of which may be bespoke, you will be asked to enter QTEMP here and then move the restored objects to the relevant libraries afterwards . Please check any documentation sent with your PTF for details.
